This website was designed by
Philippe Gambette from :
- the visualisation concept suggested by Jean Véronis on his blog, and the
collaboration which followed to study the concept and provide a software to automatically compute it according
to many sets of parameters.
This collaboration was partially funded by the ANR projet PhylAriane,
which will benefit from the use of the visualisation in bioinformatics.
- the web interface programmed by Jean-Charles Bontemps,
available
on SourceForge, and adapted for this website.
Since 2014, the tree cloud construction module handles
Unicode characters and includes several linguistic preprocessing
operations (stopword deletion, detection of multi-word expressions)
performed by
Unitex, added
by
Claude Martineau.
The integration of Unitex into TreeCloud was continued by Claude Martineau in 2017,
on the occasion of the
ECLAVIT research project (see poster
in french,
in english).
During June 2014 to July 2014, S Deepak Srinivas implemented the algorithm proposed by Barthelemy and Luong (1987) in their
paper in C.
And the visualization of the tree has been done in JavaScript (using the d3.js library).
Many advises and examples were useful in the design and use of tree clouds. More details
about those are given in the
Acknowledgement section of these
two
articles,
and in the
version history of TreeCloud.
